📝 Contributor License Agreement (CLA) – Terratomic.io

By contributing to the Terratomic.io project (the “Project”), you agree to the terms of this Contributor License Agreement (“Agreement”).

1. Definitions

  • “You” means the individual or legal entity making a contribution.
  • “Contribution” means any original work of authorship, code, design, artwork, or documentation that you intentionally submit to the Project, in any form.
  • “Terratomic.io project” refers to the open-source game project originally hosted at https://github.com/1brucben/Terratomic, including any future renamed or reorganized versions maintained by the same team or designated successors.
  • “Terratomic Team” refers to the original authors and maintainers of the Terratomic.io project and includes any future maintainers or successors as recognized by the repository’s commit access or governance structure.

2. Licensing of Contributions

You hereby grant the Terratomic Team the following rights:

a. Code and Assets Outside proprietary/ Folder

You agree to license your contributions under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later (GPLv3+).
This ensures that the project and its community remain free and open.

b. Contributions to the proprietary/ Folder

You grant the Terratomic Team a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, and irrevocable license (which may be sublicensed or relicensed under any terms, including proprietary terms) to use your contributions to the proprietary/ folder.

This license is exclusive, except that you may retain and use your contribution privately for archival or portfolio purposes, so long as you do not redistribute, sublicense, or use it in any other public or commercial project.

You acknowledge that:

  • Your contributions to this folder may become part of a non-free product.
  • You will not assert copyright or moral rights over this proprietary use.

3. Original Work

You represent that:

  • You are the sole author of your contribution, or have the legal right to submit it.
  • Your contribution does not knowingly infringe any third-party rights.

4. Contribution Process

Submitting a pull request or uploading files to the Project repository constitutes acceptance of this CLA.

If contributing on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.

5. Future Maintainers

This CLA applies to the Project and its successors or future maintainers, as long as the license structure (GPLv3 and proprietary split) remains materially the same.
