AcreetionOS Community Guidelines

Our Philosophy

AcreetionOS is a software project. We are here to build.

We welcome contributors based on their ability to do what they say they will do — not based on their identity, background, or beliefs.

Guidelines

  • Your background, identity, politics, religion, sexuality, etc. are yours alone. We do not require you to disclose or hide anything. Bring your best code and leave the rest at the door.

  • We do not police speech. This is not a safe space from ideas — it is a space for building software. Disagreement and debate are part of engineering.

  • We judge code, not people. A bad patch is a bad patch regardless of who wrote it. A good patch is a good patch regardless of who wrote it.

  • Be excellent to each other. We won't create rules for every possible interaction. Treat people with basic respect and assume good faith.

  • Harassment of maintainers or users will not be tolerated. This is an action-oriented standard, not a thought-policing regime. If you are actively harassing someone — stalking, threatening, doxxing, or similar — you will be removed.

  • This is a software project. We measure success by working code, stable releases, and happy users — not by how well we perform ideological signaling.

Enforcement

Maintainers have final say on community membership. If someone is actively disrupting the project or harassing others, they will be asked to leave. We don't maintain a list of forbidden words or thoughtcrimes — we deal with real problems as they arise.

The Goal

Build great software. Help people. Move forward.
