So i was curious about GPU generation and was googling around when i found this Github.

I am a dummy and basically know nothing of coding but i'd like to see what this can do on my local machine, is there a build somewhere or can i use Visual studio code and C to compile this for minecraft somehow?

if it's too complex no worries, i am just curious about GPU chunk generation

Glad to hear you’re interested in the project! I am currently traveling abroad so I can’t give a super detailed answer at the moment, but I’ll tag the other two team members @helenazzzzz and @Alan-Qiao and maybe one of them can help you out with the build steps. If not, I can provide more information in a few days when I get back home.

Generally, I think you just need CUDA installed (and maybe a separate OptiX install? I forget). Then you can build the project using cmake and Visual Studio. Do note that the project works only if you have an NVIDIA GPU.

If I remember correctly, most of the actual terrain generation is done in terrain.cpp and chunk.cu, though I will say that you’d probably want a decent understanding of C++ and CUDA before attempting to decipher those.
