Black screen upon first boot of batocerplus

hello i am looking for some help i downloaded a batoceraplus 160 gig image and when i install it just after the load screen its stays black. when i hit the f2 or f3 key i am taken to a login and password. . . i have tried a batocera image it loads fine but my version of Batocerplus wont allow me to completly boot into to it. i am using a asus zenbook laptop with a intel core 7 with a geforce gtx graphics card. its recently new laptop less than a year old.

When i asked for help on the btocera site they would not help due to batocera not plus image help.I dont know what to do i know image is good due to fact it does let me get to a command prompt saying batocera the image i am using is BatoceraPlus-2.0-Final-PC64-160G_06_09_2020.img I dont know who or where to ask for help as i am new to botocera.. any help with what i can do to remedy my install black screen.. thank you Ron Williams singletrackron@gmail.com

I am not tech savy and have limited internet speed to a 6 gig download pemonth due to fact i live off grid, it took me over a month to dload 160 gig image

I don't develop images with games, the Batocera.PLUS image comes without any games. The images with games are shared by other people in the communities, I just develop the image that serves as a base for people to create their own multi game systems.

The 160GB image you downloaded is based on a very old image from Batocera.PLUS and it probably won't work with your notebook, but you can try the latest images (without games) that are available on the project's Discord.

If the latest image works on your notebook you can copy most games from the old image to the new image.

Ok thank you I'll give it a try today. I wasn't aware of that. You can come with games which is fine. Makes sense. I'll try to installing it today and see what happens. Appreciate the prop reply.

I tried your batoceraplus dev image you suggested and it does the exact same thing as my 160 gig image . it hangs just after the splash screen., and out of curiosity i tried a Batocera current version and their image boot just fine. I am able to hit cntrl f2 and f3 . i think it may be hanging at at the repartion size? the screen is black except in top left corner it says BatoceraPlus.
