Photoshop CC 2015.5.0 release installed but not working

In my current photoshop version 2015.5.0, I followed the supplied instructions and the extension installed, I can see the panel window but it has a white background instead of black and entered values disappear and no grids are made.

It doesn't seem to work on my Photoshop CC 2015.0.0 version either. I do see the panel, it does have the correct black color, but it won't create any grids.

for me it wasn't working until I changed the units to pixels, see if it works.
