The delete button in the search bar doesn't work properly

Android. While searching for books in Library - All Books, if you hold the delete button after typing something in the search bar, it deletes around 1-4 characters and then accidentally stops and need to be held again.

which button? on the keyboard or the search bar itself? can't seem to reproduce this either way
