I run several sites for various Local Media Association projects using open-source Newspack. On one of those sites, newsisout.com, we attempted to activate the Campaigns plugin but it kept throwing a critical error. When I logged into Recovery Mode, this (attached) is the error message I saw.
We have used Campaigns on our other sites without any issues. There are no differences in hosting environments and all sites are at the same core and plugin versions (up to date). Not sure what's causing the failure here.
