Deprecation of WordPress MCP in favor of mcp-adapter #104
Description
We are beginning the deprecation process for this repository.
The mcp-adapter project is now stable and will serve as the canonical implementation for MCP in WordPress. In addition, WordPress Core 6.9 will introduce the Abilities API, making it unnecessary for this plugin to continue as a standalone long-term solution.
Next steps:
- Users are encouraged to migrate to mcp-adapter.
- This repository will remain public and eventually be archived for reference.
- No further feature development will take place here.
We thank all contributors and users of WordPress MCP. The transition to mcp-adapter provides a more unified and sustainable path forward.
