Seem to be missing the Cost Optimization rules

Hi

Unsure if I'm doing something wrong but none of the reports ( recommendations) seem to reference or use any of the cost optimisation recommendations. Is that by design or perhaps I'm missing something? Perhaps I'm mixing things up, but I could swear that cost optimisation recommendations used to be a part of the recommendations tab, and vaguely remember that it was related to PSrule?

Hi PSRule checks are not integrated in Azure Quick Review. In the past we had a cost tab which is now disabled by default cause using the underlying API really slow down scans.

I've tried running with the cost stage, but all I got was just pure costs by service name, no recommendations or anything to that effect. Am I misremembering, or did a cost optimisation / cost recommendations section exist "back in the day"?

cost optimisation / cost recommendations was never there. Perhaps you are talking about what the advisor section shows?

Fair enough, I'm probably mixing it up with a different solution or like you say the elements that advisor show.

With that said and going on a slight tangent, would you consider including some or similar rules as PSrule?

Which rules? Are those ARM Graph based?

To be honest, I’m not 100% sure, but my understanding is that pSRule for Azure rules are based more on the ARm resource structure itself, rather than graph-style queries. So I guess they would fit closer to AZQR’s ARM / SDK checks than the query/plugin side. And I was mostly interested in the cost optimisation part
