Steam no longer registers inputs one minute after closing a game

Since the last few updates I have the problem that steam no longer registers inputs in the main menu after about one minute of closing the game.
The bug only happens with the vader 5 and doesn't with my other Xbox controller.
The bug is not 100% consistent but happens about half of the time.

How to reproduce it:

1. Open the native Bazzite big picture mode, (not big picture mode inside steam desktop version).
2. Start a game (that uses steam input).
3. Close the game
4. Wait about a minute
5. Try to do anything inside the menu

To resolve the issue I have to shut down the controller and reconnect it.
The issue almost never happens in game, but can happen very rarely.

I just noticed the same bug can happen when switching from desktop to Bazzite big picture mode. After about 1-2 minutes steam no longer registered button presses.
When navigating with a mouse to the controller tab it still shows the controller as connected and even puts out the ping-rumble but no button is registered in the input test section.

I have the exact same issue, also with Bazzite

Maybe this helps…
After uploading this fix: „Fix boot-present hotplug retry path #304“ the „no registered inputs“ bug also happens when the controller is already on while booting. This didn‘t happen before. Maybe this is a clue.

Tried it with the newest version. Bug happens still the same
