padctl daemon not starting

On my Archlinux machine the daemon failed to start.

journalctl shows the following errors.

padctl.service: Changing group credentials failed: Operation not permitted
padctl.service: Failed at step GROUP spawning /usr/bin/padctl: Operation not permitted

padctl version: 0.1.8

I tested it as well, and it's working again.

But I had to modify the build script because the buildx plugin is missing from my Docker installation.
