Family: round_u_bolt_pipe_saddle_clamp

Anchor: STAUFF Catalogue 1 — STAUFF Clamps, English, version 06/2026, pages 152–155

This family covers the catalogued RB+RUK and RB+RUL assemblies: one round-steel U-bolt, one plastic pipe saddle and four nuts. The short RUK and long RUL saddles are discrete sourced variants with the same six-part assembly principle. Pipe/tube and substrate are excluded. Page-156 saddle-free RBD is excluded because the old BenchCAD corpus already contains a plain DIN 3570 u_bolt; no equivalent round-U-bolt-with-saddle assembly was found in the current designs, registry, Issues or PRs.

Suggested coverage: easy uses central RUK rows; medium covers both saddles and thread transitions; hard reaches the smallest/largest rows and long-saddle extremes. Every difficulty must retain a real (saddle_variant, D1) combination.

Engineering constraints

  1. Return six named positive-volume solids: one round U-bolt, one saddle and four nuts.
  2. The two U-bolt legs are parallel and symmetric about the pipe axis; all four nuts are coaxial with the two legs.
  3. The saddle concave face is coaxial with D1 and must use the A-coupled dimensions for the selected variant.
  4. RUK and RUL are discrete saddle topologies; do not continuously morph or interpolate between them.
  5. Four views must expose the round U-bolt section, saddle length/topology and four-nut arrangement.
  6. Validate real-row membership, the six-solid count, positive volumes, correct thread transition and no unintended fusion.
  7. Thread flanks, nut chamfers, bend radii, saddle radii, local draft, recesses and exact clearances are not fully dimensioned. Use deterministic proportion values or omit them; do not infer preload, deformation, hidden washers or a substrate.
