The date of birth can not marked as required

I've installed the Userprofile extension with the Bixie framework. I've tried mark the date of birth field as required. I've received "Invalid value for required option.".

I saw in the code, that you didn't save the flag in the database and you didn't set the validation selector in the cue file.
