OpenIdeas Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

OpenIdeas is committed to building a friendly, safe, and welcoming community for everyone. We expect all participants to follow this Code of Conduct in all project spaces.

This Code of Conduct is based on the Contributor Covenant and includes enforcement guidelines to ensure clear and consistent moderation.

🀝 Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone. This applies regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socioeconomic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Building an inclusive environment is crucial for fostering innovation in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision (CV). We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

βœ… Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community
  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Helping others by providing reproducible information (e.g., logs, minimal examples, environment details)

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances of any kind
  • Trolling, insulting, derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment in any form
  • Publishing others' private information (such as a physical or email address) without explicit permission
  • Doxing, threats, intimidation, or encouraging violence
  • Repeated disruption of discussions, spamming, or sustained bad-faith participation
  • Retaliation against anyone who reports a Code of Conduct incident

πŸ›‘οΈ Enforcement Responsibilities

Project maintainers and community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior. They will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct. When appropriate, maintainers may communicate reasons for moderation decisions to support transparency and learning.

🌐 Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project and community spaces, including but not limited to:

  • GitHub Issues, Pull Requests, Discussions, and code reviews
  • Project documentation, comments, and repository content
  • Any official project communication channels

This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the project or its community in public spaces. Examples of representing the project include using an official project email address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

βš–οΈ Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it privately to the project team.

Contact: yaoyuzhuo6@gmail.com

When reporting an incident, please include (if possible):

  • A description of what happened
  • Links, screenshots, or logs (if applicable)
  • The time and context of the incident
  • Any additional information that may help maintainers investigate

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

We are committed to respecting the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident. Confidentiality is key to encouraging reports and maintaining trust.
