CogVideo may work nicely, but its research-only license and relatively high VRAM requirements limit who can use the project. Wan 2.1 is Apache-2.0 licensed, runs on ~8-10 GB consumer GPUs, and achieves comparable quality on public benchmarks.
Adding Wan 2.1 as an alternative backbone could open the door for indie devs and studios who need a commercially friendly license and lighter hardware requirements, broadening the community and impact of LongAnimation.
