Codebuf is great and well executed, but right now it feels geared toward "boutique" providers like Anthropic and OpenAI.

Times have changed, and open-weight models are now almost as good. For power users and hackers like us, the harness matters more than the underlying model—and open weights are what we’re actually using.

You should introduce an offering tailored to these models and rethink your priorities under the assumption that model costs are effectively zero. Token cost won't be a primary constraint for long.

Offer a low-cost tier for the hacker community—your own overhead will drop, too. Not everyone needs high-end sushi; a lot of us are perfectly happy with takeout fried rice.

Support affordable, high-quality open-weight models.

Offer a lower-priced, high-value subscription tier for the harness.
