From ef2a6732bdf8fe6e745102b6ca4c3e25656d975c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: fanfyh Date: Sat, 17 Oct 2026 23:21:48 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] docs: list OPENALEX_API_KEY in .env.example The bundled OpenAlex tool reads process.env.OPENALEX_API_KEY (science-database-openalex.ts) and its rate-limit diagnostics tell users to set it, but .env.example did not list the variable, so the keyed budget path was undiscoverable and runs silently fell back to the anonymous budget. We hit this in production: a headless research session without the key received a 429 with Retry-After: 22439s (~6.2h) and stalled with zero deliverable. Listing the variable next to the existing NCBI_API_KEY precedent makes the free keyed path discoverable. No code change. --- .env.example | 3 +++ 1 file changed, 3 insertions(+) diff --git a/.env.example b/.env.example index a241c620..85574af4 100644 --- a/.env.example +++ b/.env.example @@ -37,6 +37,9 @@ RUNPOD_API_KEY= MODAL_TOKEN_ID= MODAL_TOKEN_SECRET= +# Raises OpenAlex rate limits and unlocks usage stats.
