Create a unified objects to xml and xml to objects but with an argument instead of clipboard

Hi, first, your scripts are Great, thanks a lot.

I am trying to automate my workflows with Alfred, and I want to use a unified script to Copy from FileMaker and another unified script to Copy from Alfred snippets with Snippets lab to FileMaker.

I everything seems to work but when I try to use your scripts, running them or inside Alfred script run, it just wont work, I don't know why. I Think it is trying to Access the clipboard before it is ready or something like that.

Anyway, I think it would be Great to have another version of those scripts that instead using the clipboard it could use an argument for the xml, and then return it, I don´t know if it is possible.

Just an idea.

It sounds like what you would want to do is be able to specify some source XML (text) to be converted into FileMaker objects where are then placed into the clipboard. Is that correct?
If so, then you can call the main library of this project, fmObjectTranslator.applescript, which has an internal function convertXmlToObjects(stringFmXML). Then, set the clipboard to the result of that function.
Here is some sample AppleScript code you could use to do this:

	set fmObjTransPath to "/Users/SAMPLE_USER_NAME/Code/FmClipTools/Scripts/fmObjectTranslator.applescript"

		on error errMsg number errNum
			return false
		end try
	end tell
	set the clipboard to fmObjects
	return true
end run

In this example, the sampleXML is hard-coded. Where is your source XML? Is it in a saved XML file, or somewhere else?

I gave up and moved from Alfred to Raycast, it already has this functionality integrated

I haven't added the newly released version yet (supporting themes), but I should be able to do that soon!

Themes are a bit wonky. FmClipTools works with the way FM 19 and 20 do them, which is UNLIKE all the normal snippet types (Field/CustomFunction/BaseTable/Script/Step/ValueList), which have a proper data class and data in the clipboard that AppleScript can see, and also unlike Custom Menus and Custom Menu Sets (straight XML).
But, in FM v21, Claris fixed that so now Themes behave properly. Of course, that means I need to update FmClipTools to properly support Themes from v21 - that is Issue #16.
