Description:
Currently, when using Picture-in-Picture mode, video playback stops as soon as the device screen is locked. This behavior makes it impossible to keep listening to the video content in the background.
Requested Feature:
Add an option to allow background audio playback, so that the video’s audio continues even when the screen is locked.
Use Case / Why this is useful:
Many users consume video content more like a podcast and would like to continue listening while doing other tasks.
Expected Behavior:
When the background playback option is enabled, the audio should continue seamlessly in the background, similar to how music players or podcast apps behave.
Users should still be able to pause/play via the notification bar or lock screen media controls.
Current Behavior:
Playback stops immediately when the screen is locked.
