A service exists in France that I have not seen in Norway, to easily prepare a newsletter with pictures and short texts that can be printed and sent to the grand-parents (or whoever) by snail mail:
- an account is created for let's say a grand mother. It gets a specific family code.
- the whole family (for us: 7 cousins) can have access to the same account using the family code
- they can upload pictures and short texts, from the website or the app on the phone. The environment is private to the family with the family code. The pictures are cropped to a specific format, and the text size is limited so that the layout of the newsletter can be done automatically.
- at the chosen intervall (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month) a pdf newsletter is generated and sent by email to all contributors.
- Then all they have to do is that one member prints it and sends it by normal mail. For the grand-parents that are in a retirement home the email could be sent directly there.
- It also helps the family itself to keep in touch with each other because we all see what the other persons posted.
I'm really glad I found this service, so it would be nice if Norwegian people could have that too!
