We would like to welcome two members of the community to the Developer Relations Foundation's Steering Committee: Jayson DeLancey and Aditya Oberai! In addition to depth of experience in global hashtag#DevRel strategy and community building, they’ve been serving as active leaders in the Foundation’s working groups, driving forward the charters, goals, and operating principles that will define the organization at launch.
📣 About the new Steering Committee members 📣
Aditya Oberai is a Developer Advocate at Appwrite and an avid tech community and open-source enthusiast. Having worked with various technologies such as APIs, web and cross-platform apps, cloud computing, etc., he has spent the last 6 years empowering tech communities and is currently an active Microsoft MVP and DigitalOcean Wavemaker. Aditya has been awarded "Best Developer Relations Professional of the Year" at the CMX Community Industry Awards 2024 and was a core organizer of DevRelCon Bengaluru 2024.
Jayson currently serves as Head of Developer Relations for Semgrep. Since studying Information & Decision Systems at Carnegie Mellon, he's undertaken a career-long pursuit to understand how people adopt and use technology. He is passionate about improving the developer experience regardless of industry, role or technical community, having built and led developer programs across security (Semgrep), audio/video technologies (Dolby Laboratories), geospatial (HERE Technologies), industrial IoT/robotics (as GE's first Developer Evangelist), cloud computing (Rackspace), feature animation (DreamWorks), scientific computing (MathWorks), and more.
As manager of the Resource Aggregation Working Group, he recently led the release of the Persona Library and now brings this cross-industry perspective to the Developer Relations Foundation steering committee.
Their addition to the Foundation’s leadership will provide further expertise, perspective, and capacity to deepen community engagement, drive forward working group participation, and finalize the resources to ensure meaningful engagement and impact.
Jayson and Aditya will serve a 2 year term, consistent with the length of service for current steering committee members.
