A Pull Request to resolve this has already been posted here. It has passed the automated tests, so all that is needed is for someone to accept and merge it.

It's been 3 months already, why is this still not accepted?

I do not know. It is possible the maintainer has not seen the Pull Request, or that he is very busy. I am not involved in this project, I only found this issue when I noticed several of my Flatpak applications had the End of Life message.
