Create RAPPEL Framework Implementation Guide for DollhouseMCP #6

Description

@mickdarling

Overview

Based on the recently merged RAPPEL framework comparison documentation, we need to create practical guidance for users who want to implement Chris Penn's RAPPEL framework using DollhouseMCP elements.

Background

The RAPPEL framework (by Chris Penn) provides a structured approach to AI customization with these components:

  • Roles (mapped to DollhouseMCP Skills)
  • Actions (mapped to DollhouseMCP Agents)
  • Personas (direct mapping to DollhouseMCP Personas)
  • Patterns (mapped to DollhouseMCP Templates)
  • Examples (mapped to DollhouseMCP Memories)
  • Logic (mapped to DollhouseMCP Ensembles)

Objectives

  1. Evaluate RAPPEL Process

    • Study the RAPPEL methodology in detail
    • Identify key implementation patterns
    • Document best practices from the framework
  2. Create Implementation Guide

    • Step-by-step guide for RAPPEL → DollhouseMCP mapping
    • Practical examples for each component
    • Common use cases and workflows
    • Migration strategies for existing RAPPEL implementations
  3. Develop Templates

    • RAPPEL starter templates for quick implementation
    • Example persona/skill/agent combinations
    • Template workflows for common RAPPEL patterns

Deliverables

  • RAPPEL Process Evaluation ()
  • Implementation Guide ()
  • Starter Templates ()
  • Example Workflows ()

Research Tasks

  • Deep-dive into Chris Penn's RAPPEL documentation
  • Identify gaps in current DollhouseMCP → RAPPEL mapping
  • Document implementation best practices
  • Create practical examples and use cases

Success Criteria

  • Users can easily implement RAPPEL methodology using DollhouseMCP
  • Clear migration path from standalone RAPPEL to DollhouseMCP-powered RAPPEL
  • Comprehensive examples covering major use cases
  • Integration with existing DollhouseMCP documentation

Priority

Medium-High - This positions DollhouseMCP as compatible with established AI frameworks and provides clear value for users already familiar with RAPPEL.

Labels

  • documentation
  • framework-integration
  • user-guide
  • rappel

This builds on the framework comparison work and makes it actionable for end users.
