How to insert a dwg file as Block

Hi Dom,

Is there a option to Insert a drawing file as a Block similar like autocad which takes Top most entity as a Base Insertion point. Can you give me some example codes.

Here is an example:

this.Document.Entities.Add(new Insert(record));

Thank you for sharing Example code. but i expected to insert a dwg file as a block not as a Xreference. But it must take Source Drawing file Basepoint $INBASE for Insert Basepoint. Sample code that i have tried to do this. in this method lines and arc's are moved properly. but attributes are kept in same as in the Source dwg file. can you check this and it will be helpful if you add function for Insertblock from dwg file as a block Similar like Xreference.

I think the error is caused in the cloning of the atribute definitions, the method is not override and some properties may not be cloned properly causing the entities to not appear in the file, I'll open a branch.

You can clone the whole block instead of iterating throw all entities:

BlockRecord newBlock = doc.ModelSpace.Clone() as BlockRecord;

i assigned basepoint of drawing file to Blockentity.Basebasepoint. My case is to insert a drawing file as a block and after that i will explode the block. but entities are getting moved to corresponding with base point. example insert point 25,240,0 but after explode, it got moved to 25.047,298.34,0.

The explode error seems to be on the Autocad or the Cad software side that you are using, if the block has the right position before exploding that may be related to some other configuration.
