Stats Are Not Updating Properly

Commit 8fadf59 broke stats updating. Unfortunately my PC is in the process of being replaced and I am unable to work on the code at this time. I hope to be able to fix this issue sometime before the July 24 results are published.

It appears now that the check loop function has never worked properly. I will be looking at this.
