One of the original considerations when spinning up this project was to learn more about using Next.js. However, from what I can see there isn't much of a benefit to using it in this project (other than filesystem routing) due to it needing to be statically compiled. There may be more of a benefit to using a Vanilla React solution instead.
Pros/Cons will need to be evaluated before going ahead with this.
