Summary

I reviewed backend/app/market/ (9 modules) and backend/tests/market/ (9 test files, 148 test functions) and wrote the full write-up to planning/MARKET_DATA_REVIEW.md.

Could not run the tests myself. This is an unattended, issue-triggered CI run with no interactive user to approve tool use, and the sandbox requires approval for uv sync, pip install, and python -m ... — every attempt was rejected. I did a full static read of every test module and traced each assertion against the source instead, and took your confirmation that all 73→148 tests pass at face value. If you'd like a future run to actually execute pytest, add something like Bash(uv:*) to --allowed-tools in .github/workflows/claude.yml.

Headline finding: the session-baseline feature PLAN.md §13 called "the one remaining change" (open_price, change_from_open_percent, unknown-ticker synthesis, SSE heartbeat) is fully and correctly implemented — spec conformance is clean across the board.

Issues found (none blocking, ordered by risk):

1. Medium — MassiveDataSource.add_ticker doesn't seed a live price synchronously (only history); with the default 15s poll interval, adding-then-immediately-trading a ticker will hit the portfolio API's planned 2s wait_for_price timeout. The simulator doesn't have this problem. Worth deciding how this should behave before the trade endpoint is built.
2. Low — Ticker case/whitespace normalization is handled differently (or not at all) between SimulatorDataSource and MassiveDataSource, so the two "interchangeable" implementations aren't quite interchangeable on unnormalized input.
3. Low — interface.py's add_ticker docstring overstates what MassiveDataSource actually guarantees.
4. Low — Day-close price fallback in massive_client.py timestamps with wall-clock instead of the bar's real time, which could misreport data as fresh.
5. Low — backend/CLAUDE.md and planning/MARKET_DATA_SUMMARY.md predate the session-baseline work and are missing open_price, wait_for_price, normalize_ticker, etc. — worth refreshing before the next agent builds on top of this module.
