Ok we want jesters to have like a real theming and not just a collection of random roles so here's a thought
all the jester masks are people infected by the evil jester-bug or whatever. This is like a parasitic insect infection that gets into people's heads and causes them to go like evil jester mode. All the evil jesterness is the result of this infection. You know those freaky bugs that mind manipulate snails and make them go to a tree and get eaten? like that.
Becoming a "fool" is like a neurological response to violence committed by the host that causes the infection to sprout from the head into like a fucked up looking jester cap. It'd be insane
