Regression: "Message not sent" error message persistent even if/after the message has been received

Steps to reproduce the bug

Before this version there was never a single report of a message not sent/delivered, provider is still the same and nothing else changed. Since September 19th l am repeatedly but not always (perhaps 1 message in 5 or possibly the first message sent in a day) seeing following behavior:

1. compose a message and (try) to send it
2. popup appears message could not be delivered or something like that. Below the message a red notification is displayed "not sent, touch to retry"
3. I touch the message, get absolutely no feedback if anything is done at all, the red notice bellow the message is still there
4. meanwhile, the other person in the conversation replied so obviously the message has been delivered but the red notice is still there till now/some weeks later

Expected behavior

Tapping the message again should give feedback that something is happening.
Red notice should disappear if the message has been successfully sent, otherwise red notice should indicate that there was another unsuccessful attempt to send the message.

Additional diagnostics would be highly appreciated.

However it should be noted that before this version there was never a single report of a message not sent so the actual problem may be sending the message or correctly recognizing whether it has been actually sent.

Actual behavior

Red notice stays forever and there is no way to see if the message has been delivered

Also with this version messages started to disappear, a behavior similar like #509

I have two SIM cards since years but never had problems because of this.

Please answer the following questions:

• Was it an MMS or SMS message that "failed" to send?
• Did you see any error toasts? If yes, what did it say?
• Do you notice any similar failures when using other messaging apps like Google Messages?

There haven't been any changes to the way messages are sent/received in v1.3.0.

It should copy message content to the text box at the bottom, so you can send it again. Doesn't it work?

The app expects a tap on the error text itself, not the sent message, which is part of the confusion here.

Ok, I can confirm that after tapping on the red notice the text of the message is copied to the input form at the bottom, basically to compose a new message. I thought I had tapped the red notice as well previously but apparently I did not. So apparently the message was delivered despite the error messages saying otherwise

it was a SMS

There was a toast, not enough time to read it fully but I think it said message not delivered or something similar

No and didn't use other messaging apps for at least a year

I came here because I had an issue sending sms.

I have 2 sim cards. No problem untill now. App version 1.3.0

Sounds more like a problem with the configuration. You can try a few things like using an older version of this app or an alternative app or test with just one SIM card inserted.
