Self-hosting the database?

I'd like to mirror the data used by Terrarium or use the scripts to preprocess the data from the original sources, would it be possible to make them public?

Haha it was quite a while ago that I put together this dataset - though I did actually manage to find the original source that generated the dataset, it's in a very messy state sprawled across multiple projects and utilities, and seems to have been partially incremental over a previous version of the dataset. 😅
There are also quite a few issues in how it was all composited together (oceans seem to have been flattened on higher scales), eventually I'd like to create a fresh dataset from scratch. 🙈

I don't think I would recommend using the dataset because of those issues haha, though do feel free to clone the hosted if you do want. 🙂 (Though of course it's important to note the original sources mentioned in the README 🙂)

Are you looking for a particular part/feature of the dataset? There may be better alternatives depending on what you want :)

I was mainly interested in adding extra features to the dataset such as tree cover and mineral concentrations to Terrarium itself, but I guess it's probably better to wait for the dataset to be redone
