Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Thank you for contributing to Fluvo (the "Project"), maintained by Strategic Efficiency B.V. (the "Maintainer"). To keep the Project's licensing clear and to allow it to be offered under both an open-source license and, where needed, a separate commercial license, we ask every contributor to agree to the terms below before their contribution is merged.

By submitting a contribution (a "Contribution") to the Project — for example via a pull request — you agree that:

  1. You may legally contribute. The Contribution is your original work, or you have the right to submit it, and submitting it does not violate any third party's rights or any agreement you are bound by. If your employer has rights to work you create, you have permission to make the Contribution on their behalf, or your employer has waived such rights.

  2. License grant. You grant the Maintainer a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, sublicense, and distribute your Contribution and such derivative works.

  3. Right to relicense. You agree that the Maintainer may license your Contribution under the Project's current open-source license (LGPL-3.0) and under other license terms, including a commercial license, as part of the Project's open-core model. You retain all right, title, and interest in your Contribution.

  4. Patent grant. You grant the Maintainer and recipients of the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, use, sell, and otherwise transfer your Contribution, covering patent claims you own that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution alone or in combination with the Project.

  5. No warranty. Unless required by law or agreed in writing, you provide your Contribution "AS IS", without warranties or conditions of any kind.

This CLA covers your past, present, and future Contributions to the Project.

Note (not part of the agreement): this is a lightweight CLA template, not legal advice. Before relying on it for a commercial dual-license, have a lawyer review it, and consider automating sign-off with CLA Assistant (https://github.com/cla-assistant/cla-assistant) so each contributor's agreement is recorded on their first pull request.
