PSVR2 on SteamVR

What happened?

While running steam VR I go into desktop mode and launch the exe. After hitting enter zero hours just boots up in 2d windowed mode while in the steamvr desktop.
Mind you psvr2 works great with my asus flow z13 running in steam vr
Is this just not compatible at all is psvr2? I've tried every troubleshooting solution I can think of, even resorted to AI for help to.
Am I just waisting my time?

Please download the last version that has more diagnostic tools.
Launch SteamVR first, wait until it's fully running (not just "opened"), confirm PSVR2 shows as tracked in the SteamVR window, then launch the game and send me the new DebugLogFile.

Just FYI
I need to run the PSVR application first before booting STEAM VR.
the headset and controllers track fine in the VR room and desktop mode (even test half-life alyx and it works fine)
Zero hour still boots up in a 2D windowed application. I can play the game with the controllers (acting as a mouse) but no VR mode.

Dug into the new log, thank you. I found the exact line where VR gives up:

OpenXR: runtime graphics bindings: vulkan2=0 vulkan1=0 d3d11=0
OpenXR: XR_KHR_vulkan_enable missing, cannot bind DXVK's device, VR unavailable

That's not "SteamVR doesn't support Vulkan," it's the OpenXR loader coming back with zero extensions at all when the game asks it what's available. A working runtime always reports a long list, so this points to the game not actually reaching SteamVR's OpenXR runtime.

You mentioned you have to launch the PSVR2 app before SteamVR for tracking to work. My guess is Sony's PC app registers itself as the active OpenXR runtime in Windows, and that registration is still pointing at Sony's runtime (not SteamVR's) by the time you launch the game.

Half-Life Alyx is a Valve title and primarily talks to SteamVR through the native OpenVR API, not the OpenXR standard. So Alyx working proves the headset/tracking/SteamVR pipeline itself is fine

Can you try this:

1. Launch the PSVR2 app like normal
2. Launch SteamVR, and once it's fully running, go to Settings → Developer → "Set SteamVR as OpenXR Runtime"
3. Then launch Zero Hour and send me the new DebugLogFile

I did install the latest release. Does it still install the logs local app folder? I'll redownload and install again, and fresh reset and test it tomorrow.
