Increase available playback speed

The official Audiobookshelf app goes from 0.5x up to 10x in increments of 0.1x. I think the playback speed should match the official app. Or at the very least go up to like 4x-5x time speed.

I am using the Android version downloaded from F-Droid, 1.6.16 for reference.

Thanks for the suggestion! Just to clarify — the goal of Lissen is not to replicate the official Audiobookshelf app, but to provide a clean and consistent user experience for people who actually find the official app’s approach frustrating or cluttered.

So I don’t aim to copy their features just for the sake of “parity.”

Out of curiosity, what’s the use case for listening to audiobooks at 10x speed?

I've used 5x speed before as essentially a "fast forward" function. I have lost my place before in an audiobook, and 5x speed is enough to be fast enough to be helpful but still understandable enough. I think 10x speed might be much, but at least 5x speed would be great to have!

I see what you mean, though I think that might be a bit of a different use case. For situations where you need to quickly find your place again, Lissen already has forward/backward jumps (up to a full minute at a time). That tends to be faster and more precise than using high playback speeds as a sort of “fast-forward,” which can feel a bit like rewinding a VHS tape
