User "Level"

How about the following ranking system for users?

Level - Name - Feature - To Level Up

Level 1 - Newb - Basic access - Comments in chat
Level 2 - Newb++ - Can submit games - Rates a game
Level 3 - Minion - Can rate blog posts - Is active for 3 days in a row
Level 4 - Warrior - Can comment on blog posts - Game or comment is +1'd (thumbed up once)
Level 5 - Strategist - Can add game ideas - Is active for 7 days in a row
Level 6 - Commander - ? - Is selected by a level 8 or higher user
Level 7 - Elite - Can write blog posts - Game or game idea is +3'd AND Comment or blog post is +3'd
Level 8 - Mod. Jr. - Can delete comments - Is selected by a level 9 or higher user AND is active for 14 days in a row
Level 9 - Moderator - Can edit blog posts, Can delete blog post, Can approve games, Can rankup "Mod. Jr."s - Is selected by a level 10+ user
Level 10 - Overlord - Can delete posts, Can rankup "Moderators"s, Can feature games - Is selected by ALL level 11 users.
Level 11 - Mastermind - Can demote users (excluding Lvl 11), Can vote to rankup "Overlord"s

ive never heard of using a ranking system like that, but it sounds fine.

Level 8 - ? - ? - Is selected by a level 10
Level 9 - ? - Partial admin access to the site - Is selected by a level 10
Level 10 - Leader - Full admin access to the site - Can't level up

This seems really nice. But what happends if someone doesn't like a person and don't want him to rank-up?

How would you gain ranks? Stackoverflow uses a similar ranking system I believe. They do it based on points earned from getting upvotes on your posts. But we will be doing more than just a Q and A forum. I also don't think you should be able to get admin privileges by ranking up. Admin should only be given by another admin.

@Maartenf There would be multiple users that could rank the person up.
@williamvanr What the user has to do to level up is item number four in the level listing. For example to get to level 2 a user must post in chat. To get to level 10 (admin) you must be selected by another level 10 user.

Well, here is the thing. Wouldn't we need a database to hold all the
information like mySQL or something? Like all the login information and the
profile management and stuff will need to be all held somewhere. Will Parse
do all of that?

Level 6 - Elite -Can author threads on forums - Is selected by a level 8 or higher user
Level 7 - Elite++ - Can write blog posts - Comment is 3+'d or
Level 8 - JrMod (Junior moderator) - Can delete comments - Is selected by a level 9 or higher user
Level 9 - Moderator - Can edit blog posts, Can delete blog post, Can feature games - Is selected by a level 10+ user
Level 10 - Admin - Admin features (Delete posts/threads, rankup mods and JnrMods)- Can't level up
Level 11 - Owner/Leader - All of admin features, but can also remove users/deactivate accounts (NOT DELETE THEM)/rank ANYONE up to ANY level excluding Lvl 11 (I was thinking only @Logi0 should get this, with the other 'owners' right now getting admin)

Just outlining what I did here-

Made a 'Level 0', who is anyone who visits but doesn't create an account or log in
Added some names
Changed blog posting to Lvl 9 (I thought blog = design notes/updates, pls correct me if I'm wrong), will add a new Lvl 7 privilege
Level 5 - I think 'Game Ideas' seems like its the same as commenting on blog posts, again correct me if I'm wrong
Moved up all rankups one level higher (or amended them) I think these should just show what you need to Rank up
Do you guys think Lvl 6 is too high a rank to just obtain the ability to author threads?

I think that it will be better Level 6 to be maraged with Level 5 (my opinion 😄

Maybe we should use Member++ and Elite++ instead of Member+ and Elite+.

And will there be badges? Some that I was thinking of are:

Da derp baj: Secret achievement

Founder: Registered 1 month after website official opening

Dev I: Helped to develop a game (Dev II is 2 games, so on.)

Tester I: Helped to test a game (See above)

I was thinking that for badges with numbers (i.e Dev IV) it is I: The badge II: Badge + a star III: +2 stars and so on.

ANOTHER NOTE: one of the admin privledges will be to validate games (i.e make the game able to be featured and OFFICIALLY activate any badges used in it)
