HELLO! I'm Charlie, the current development secretary :)
My own experience
- 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Maintain a few cool personal projects
- Traveling-salesman-based route optimiser for European cities (incl. planes/trains/coaches across 19 cities)
- Anti-fraud financial document pipeline (great production architecture!!!!! can see it in the projects readme)
- Other projects found here
What I've done as DevSec
- Built the new HackSoc election system :D (the old one was 2 years old and may have suffered from "works on my machine"™️)
- Purged the HackSoc Office 365 Tenant (which had over 100 accounts spanning back to 2019...)
- Set up the HackSoc Vaultwarden (password manager)
- Purged the HackSoc GitHub organisation (which, even having many repositories now, was even worse... also had about 100 extra people in)
- Cleared up 9 git issues for the HackSoc website (90% of them)
- 2 approved PRs to the HackSoc website
- Kept hacksoc's infrastructure updated/hardened
- Worked with Tito & the infamous hacknotts receipt printer at HN25
What I Will Do
- Intend to organise @ HackNotts 26 (I volunteered at HN25)
- Continue to support HackSoc's in-person events
- Move HackSoc's infrastructure to Fedora (> debian)
- Keep moving any internal HackSoc tools away from Rust (sorry rustheads)
