Name: Chris Lloyd
Welfare Secretary
Manifesto
Heya! I'm Chris, currently 2nd year in Comp Sci and given I'm writing this I'd like to run for welfare secretary!
> But why?
- I like Computers. I'd like to share that view a bit more.
- I think computing should be open to and for everyone.
- In my last D&D campaign I played a cleric, I'm counting this as experience in supporting other people!
But seriously though, things just generally seem a lot better when everyone is feels safe in a Hacksoc space (or any space really!)
> The benefits!
- Diplomacy FTW. I find I can talk to many people, often in context-free grammars, and mediate issues or problems quite well.
- I've had experience being on a committee before, this past year I was the percussion manager for the Blowsoc music society, which was handling the state of affairs relating to the percussion ensemble, and generally keeping the peace there. (And as a win for diplomacy, I was able to convince another ensemble to do a ship concert with us!)
- If you say C# is the best programming language, I will not be afraid to tell you how wrong you are... Probably in a non-confrontational, passive-aggressive manner until you re-evaluate that statement to see you used the '#' operator instead of the '++' operator.
I have an emotional support crochet dragon. I fail to see how this is not a benefit.
At the end of the day though, thanks for reading this :)
