FreeAd

FreeAd is an experiment about giving open source, free advertisements.

Submitting Ads

You can add your own advertisement by submitting a pull request adding a json file to assets/adlists/ in the format that is below:

Name: The name of your advertisement GitHub: The name of your github. If it is a user, do USR/YourUsername. If it is an org, do ORG/YourOrg Site Validation: The site that your ads are on 160x600: Your advert image (160x600) On Click: The link to go to on click of the advert (Will be verified and virus checked)

Warning

You can't submit an Advert without ad tokens...

Ad Tokens

AD tokens let you create ads on FreeAd. To get ad tokens, there are two ways:

Free tokens

You start with One Free Token. Once you have used this token, you cannot get it again. To use the free token, say this in your PR:

AD Token Source: Free

Note

For admins: Please check PR history of the user to see if they have used their free token

Website Tokens

If you add FreeAd to your website, you get a free advert for your site. To use this, say this in your PR:

AD Token Source: Site- YOUR.URL

Replace YOUR.URL with your site's url. Every site you add FreeAd to, you get another token. To prove that the site is linked to your github user, add a footer to the bottom with the text:

FreeAD GitHub User: YourUsername
