How to share different TWS / gateway versions and report about issues / malfunctions linked to them?

Hi,

thanks for the maintainer helping so much others to minimize hassle with InteractiveBrokers.

I get the impression that some of the issues we face with IBC <-> TWS / gateway are linked to the version of TWS / gateway used.

Does anybody has ideas how to put together a list with the TWS / gateway versions that work properly together with IBC?

As InteractiveBrokers only publishes the latest stable version, it might also be helpful if we find a place to store the various versions of the TWS / gateway physically so others can download them.

If I understand it correctly, I can find the version of the TWS Windows standalone in the file settings (right mouse click in file explorer view):

The screenshot above shows the settings of the TWS standalone installer (German Windows version).

In Dateiversion (probably "file version" in English) it says 1.37.1.15 .
In Produktversion (probably "product version" in English) it says "(.1o ...)".
This should probably translate to Build 10.37.1o .

So to put my question again:

Does anybody has ideas how to put together a list with the TWS / gateway versions that work properly together with IBC (or has certain flaws) including also the possibility to download them?

I don't see any need for such a list.

The short answer is that the current version of IBC should work with all current offline versions of TWS/Gateway: ie Offline Latest and Offline Stable.

Note that when a new version of one of these is published by IBKR, this may occasionally cause IBC to fail to work with it (for example if the structure of a dialog box has been changed so that IBC no longer recognises it). A new IBC version will then be released as soon as possible.

If you encounter a situation where IBC is not working with your installed TWS/Gateway, report it by raising an issue either here or on the IBC User Group: I may not have noticed a new TWS/Gateway being released, so this might speed up fixing the problem.

When a 'latest' or 'stable' TWS/Gateway release is superseded (eg 10.37.1o replaced by 10.37.1p or 10.38.1), you should stop using the superseded version, because it will be unmaintained and won't contain fixes made to later versions.
