Code of Conduct

Standard

Inference Foundry operates as a strictly professional, evidence-based engineering community. All participants — contributors, maintainers, and observers — are expected to engage with the technical work directly and in good faith.

Technical disagreements are resolved by evidence: benchmarks, profiler traces, reproducible test cases, and citations to authoritative specifications. Arguments from authority, seniority, or personal preference carry no weight. If you believe a design decision is wrong, measure it and show the data.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following result in an immediate, unappealable permanent ban from all Inference Foundry spaces (GitHub repositories, issue trackers, Discord):

  • Harassment or personal attacks of any kind, including targeted insults, threats, and sustained hostile behavior directed at an individual.
  • Discrimination on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic.
  • Gatekeeping: dismissing or belittling contributions based on the contributor's experience level, background, or employer rather than the technical merit of the work.
  • Deliberate bad faith: sabotaging discussions, submitting knowingly false benchmark data, or misrepresenting technical facts to win an argument.

There are no warnings for these violations. Maintainers will act immediately.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all activity in Inference Foundry GitHub repositories (issues, PRs, code review comments, commit messages, discussions) and the official Discord server.

Reporting

Report violations by emailing the maintainers at conduct@inference-foundry.dev or by filing a private report via GitHub's built-in reporting tools. Reports are handled confidentially. Retaliation against reporters is itself a bannable offense.

Architectural Discussions

Open architectural debates, design critiques, and performance trade-off discussions are encouraged and happen primarily on the Discord server. Bring profiling data. Leave the ego at the door.

This Code of Conduct is maintained by the Inference Foundry core team and is effective immediately upon adoption.
