Multicolored pieces are already supported internally in game, and can be pasted by specifying color overrides in the ICN! Let's add 4 Player Infinite Chess games!

Discuss: Should games be last man standing, or have a point system?

Checkmated players have their armies turn grey into gargoyles by making them neutral pieces.

Todo:

• Add server-side support for 4 player invite creation and management.
• Add client-side 4 player invite creation and joining.
• Add server-side 4 player game management.

I think that last man standing would fit the best since that's how it works in normal 2 player chess

While designing the 4 player option, is it worth keeping open the option of 3 players? If it's not a significant amount more work to support, it would allow people to play a 3 player game when there are not enough people around for a 4 player game.

As a possible future feature: Allowing 1 player to control 2 or more sets of pieces:

• 2 colours against 2 colours (2 players controlling 2 colours each).
• 3 colours against 1 colour (1 player controlling 3 colours, the other player controlling 1 colour).
• 2 colours against 2 lots of 1 colour (3 players, with 1 controlling 2 colours and the other 2 each controlling 1 colour).

I'm not suggesting any of these be included here. Just mentioning them in case it affects decisions on how to approach implementing 4 players (if you want to leave open the option of implementing these variations later).

Everything about 3 player screams unbalanced to me. There will always be one cardinal direction which doesn't have a player playing on.
