[decision needed] Conviction/vesting tracker + OHLC — in or out of scope? #4302

Description

@JSONbored

Context

Two items from the taostats.io/taomarketcap.com competitor feature benchmark (2026-07-08
research pass) brush against #2589's explicit scope fence ("NOT building - trader/wallet/tax:
Portfolio/PnL, tax reports, wallet actions, exchange trackers, OHLC candlesticks... metagraphed
is a developer explorer"). Neither is epic'd in the build-out tree — this issue exists so they
get an explicit in/out call instead of being silently built or silently dropped.

Item 1: Conviction / subnet-owner exit-lock vesting tracker

TaoMarketCap has a "Conviction" tab tracking the on-chain mechanism where a subnet owner
submits an unlock transaction, then a 30-day (63% unlock) + 60-day (full unlock) vesting-style
countdown runs before the position becomes liquid — giving holders advance warning of a
founder exit. taostats does not have this; it's a real competitive differentiator.

Argument for: arguably distinguishable from personal portfolio/PnL — it's about subnet-owner
transparency (a governance/trust signal), not user wallet tracking.
Argument against: fundamentally adjacent to speculation/trading decisions, close to the
fence's spirit.

If approved: needs its own research spike first (the exact vesting/lock pallet governing this
mechanism was not part of this session's research and should not be assumed).

Item 2: OHLC candlesticks

Explicitly excluded by #2589's own text. Listed here only for completeness / to confirm the
exclusion stands — no action expected unless you want to revisit it.

Deliverable

A maintainer decision (comment on this issue is sufficient) on whether Item 1 is in scope. If
yes, this issue becomes the parent for a new research-spike sub-issue. If no, close this issue
referencing the #2589 fence as the reason.

maintainer-only.
