Not working on 1.21.6

The mod appears on ModMenu (also tested without), but the chat history will limit itself to 50 messages in-game as well as through command_history.txt. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe some other chat-related mod you have installed? Tested on my end with just MCH

Just had a look at the command_history.txt stuff; this mod only covers recieving messages in the chat window, not send/commands.
