Update to sootup - impossible?

While testing with popular android apps, I've noticed a great amount of failures related to the DEX Writer, used by Soot. I would offer my self to update Androlog to Sootup, but it seems to me that Jimple to DEX generation is not available anymore. Hope I'm wrong. Do you have any comments about this possibility?
