Contributor License Agreement

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Keyoku Engine ("the Project"), owned and managed by Keyoku ("the Company"). This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") documents the rights granted by contributors to the Company.

1. Definitions

"Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including any modifications or additions to an existing work, submitted by you to the Project.

"Submit" means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Project, including but not limited to pull requests, issues, comments, and patches.

2. Grant of Rights

By submitting a Contribution to this Project, you agree to the following:

2a. Copyright License

You grant the Company a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your Contributions and such derivative works.

2b. Patent License

You grant the Company a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer your Contributions, where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution(s) alone or by combination of your Contribution(s) with the Project.

2c. License Changes

You acknowledge that the Project is licensed under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1) and will convert to Apache License 2.0 on the Change Date specified in the LICENSE file. You grant the Company the right to relicense your Contributions under the Apache License 2.0 (or any subsequent Change License) as specified in the BSL 1.1 terms.

3. Representations

You represent that:

  • You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses.
  • Each of your Contributions is your original creation, or you have sufficient rights to submit it under these terms.
  • Your Contribution does not violate any third party's intellectual property rights.
  • If your employer(s) has rights to intellectual property that you create, you have received permission to make Contributions on behalf of that employer, or your employer has waived such rights.

4. No Obligation

You understand that the decision to include your Contribution in the Project is entirely at the discretion of the Company and this agreement does not obligate the Company to use or include your Contribution.

5. Support

You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions, except to the extent you desire to provide support. You may provide support for free, for a fee, or not at all.

6. How to Sign

By opening a pull request against this repository, you indicate your agreement to these terms. The CLA Assistant bot will record your acceptance.
