Alternative feature extractors other than Superpoint

Hi,
I noticed that the current MINIMA uses MagicLeap's SuperPoint which has licensing restrictions. I tried some alternatives but ran into issues.

Questions:
Is it possible to swap SuperPoint for another 256-dim extractor without retraining?
Are there plans to release weights trained with MIT-licensed feature extractors?
Any recommendations for alternative extractors that would work with the current MINIMA LightGlue weights?

Hi, thanks for the interest.
If you change the extractor, you’ll need to retrain LightGlue as well. For alternatives, XFeat is a pretty good option. We did consider training a MINIMA XFeat, but we just haven’t had time for it yet.
