Hi

1. Can I power the board using both USB (as main source) and Battery (as backup source)?
2. Is the battery charged when power is provided via USB?
3. Has the battery an embedded BMS?
4. How can I read the state of charge of the battery?

3. It looks like and according to the documentation there is an overcharging and over discharging protection
4. I could not figure this out yet
