General Ideas for Textbook

I'd like to preface this post with the notion that the information given below is not empirical as I am giving random numerical and categorical values for the purpose of demonstrating an example of how we can better contextualize a solutions section.

For many textbooks, the solutions are often numerical with little context as to what the solutions mean. For example, students are given problems about functions and various polynomials with solutions that say "20,000". Instead, we could say "Black students accrue $20,000 dollars more debt than their white counterparts on average in Raleigh, North Carolina". Offering meaning and contextual understanding allows us to better follow the work and maintain this social justice mindset throughout the textbook, rather risk it getting lost in the math.
