Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

This project follows the Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct, version 2.1 — with personal amendments for nuance, clarity, and personal ownership.

🧭 Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All interactions within this repository (issues, pull requests, discussions)
  • Any off-platform conversations related to contributions to BJL13.org

🎯 Our Standards

This is a queer-owned, neurodivergent-led community site. You are expected to:

  • Use inclusive and respectful language
  • Honor lived experience over ideology
  • Assume good intent, but prioritize impact
  • Respect boundaries, identity, and autonomy
  • Disagree thoughtfully, not antagonistically

🚫 Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks
  • Misgendering or refusal to use someone’s stated name/pronouns
  • Dogwhistles or cryptonormativity (e.g., "just being objective")
  • Exploiting this project for self-promotion or clout
  • Pushing uninvited “professional advice” or ideological frameworks

🧾 Enforcement

This project is personally maintained. Violations may result in:

  • Temporary or permanent banning from contributing
  • Public call-in or call-out, if warranted
  • Reporting to GitHub if harassment or abuse occurs

💌 Reporting

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this code:

  • Email devops@bjl13.org
  • Or open a private GitHub issue titled “Conduct Concern”

📜 Attribution

This code is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, but reflects specific cultural, ethical, and lived commitments of the maintainer.

If you don't agree with the spirit of this space, you're free not to participate.
