"Connection Request" when switching peripherals between macs

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, i couldn't find a better place.

The switching mechanism works well, but every time I do switch, the keyboard works on its own, but the trackpad asks for confirmation on the receiving mac

Connection Request from: Foo's Trackpad
To connect to the device, click Connect to complete the connection process.
To reject connection to the device, click Cancel.
Ignore this device | Cancel | Connect

If I don't click "Connect", then the device gets lost, and I have to pair it again from the macOS bluetooth settings.

Is that expected, or is there something I can do to not have this prompt?

(also, i've seen this prompt with both "Foo's Trackpad" or a bluetooth ID like "E3:B4:C8:F2:G9")

This popup is a MacOS popup, which I have no control over (ideally, Magic-Switch would always press "connect", because it's quite annoying).

In my experience, this popup does always come up for me, but the peripherals always work already (like your keyboard), so I'm not sure what's going on.

When this happens, could you try turning the peripheral off and on? Make sure "reconnect peripherals when they drop" is enabled in the settings too

there may have been some interactions w/ the fact that the peripherals were plugged into a computer at some point to charge, which kinda takes over from bluetooth.

i haven't had the devices get lost during the rest of the day, i'll report if I see something interesting

I mean, it's not possible :-). Anyways, I cleaned up some things, hopefully it will make your problem happen at least less.
