Could this be used to boot Mac OS?

Now I know this doesn't work on PowerPC Macs, but if it did, would this be able to boot Mac OS without any extra altercations? As in provide the required bootargs and get into the kernel? (I don't mind if it kernel panics after). Sorry for the really specific question. I have a project idea i'm thinking of that uses this.

After Jobs came back and shut down CHRP and open Mac hardware, we lost all visibility into what it takes to boot MacOS.

Are they even allowed to keep their version of openfirmware closed source? It does have an OSS license.

The license applies to my implementation. They did their own implementation from the specification document. My implementation, having been derived from base code that I initially wrote as a Sun employee, was not FOSS until about 2004, when Sun released their code under a modified BSD license as part of the OpenSPARC project.

Even if you had their code, I would not expect something to "work like a charm". Booting on specific hardware is unbelievably detailed work.
